A practical, experiential series designed for doctors.
THIS IS MEDICINE FOR THE HEALERS: Doctors are often taught to push through exhaustion — An exercise that soon becomes an overexerted lifestyle. Designed to nourish fatigue, this four-part series is medicine for the healers.
Learn how to transform the moment to be calmer, clearer and well-resourced. With tools simple enough to use between consults, in the OR lounge, or before heading home, this toolkit is filled with sustainable know-how to help soothe, regulate and feed your nervous system — Pouring vitality back into your doctor within.
Each 45-minute session is centered on learning by doing— breathing, moving, and practicing simple tools that doctors can take back into their daily lives. Teaching points are brief, meant to frame the practice.
SIDE EFFECT: Doctors leave feeling different after each session — more clear, calm, and nourished — while building a toolkit for sustainable self-maintenance. The Physician’s SOL experience has been known to invigorate stamina often improving feel-good living.
Session Structure (45 minutes)
5 min — Welcome + brief teaching frame
30 min — Experiential practice (breathwork, bioenergetics, guided process)
10 min — Integration + Q&A
Part I — Resetting the Physician’s Nervous System
Frame: Burnout as a nervous system pattern, not personal failure.
Practice:
Guided body scan to notice hidden stress.
Breath-based downshift from sympathetic → parasympathetic.
Mini-reset drill for between patients.
Integration Tool: A 2-minute "reset ritual" doctors can practice at work.
Part II — Breath as Medicine: Regulating in Real Time
Frame: How breath toggles physiology (sympathetic ↔ parasympathetic).
Practice:
Energizing breath sequence to combat fatigue.
Grounding breath to release anxiety and mental overload.
Practice switching quickly between states (so you can reset before the next patient).
Integration Tool: Pocket guide of micro-breath practices for workday use.
Part III — Self-Nourishment: Refueling Beyond Food & Sleep
Frame: True nourishment as fuel for physicians beyond physical needs.
Practice:
Somatic grounding: reclaiming presence in the body.
Guided meditation for emotional replenishment.
Breath + visualization sequence to "feed" the nervous system.
Integration Tool: Personal “nourishment menu” — quick ways to self-soothe and recharge during the day.
Part IV — Integration: Building Self-Maintenance Into Medical Life
Frame: Don’t wait for a breakdown — like car maintenance, doctors need regular tune-ups.
Practice:
The full SOL sequence: breath, awareness, light movement, and grounding.
Reflection practice: mapping where/when to use tools in daily life.
Integration Tool: Customized “self-maintenance plan” for each participant.
SOL/
A non-physical essence, it is a life-giving spirit — combined with the body and the mind, that makes the human whole. Often considered the essence of an individual’s identity and personality, the soul breathes emotional and intellectual life into sol-centered living.
ANCIENT WISDOM OF THE NOW
In my work, we turn gently toward the hidden parts of ourselves—the pieces we’ve tucked away in exile. Together, we bring them into the light, greeting them with acceptance and compassion rather than resistance. Through practices that draw from parts work, deep emotional re-patterning, and somatic techniques such as bilateral stimulation, tapping, and breath, we create space for these aspects of Self to be seen, felt, and welcomed home. This bottom-up approach honors the wisdom of the body and nervous system, allowing what was once fragmented to be integrated. In this way, we love the parts of ourselves back into wholeness, returning to the truth of who we are.
